DESCENDANT VISITOR EXPERIENCES

Museum Tour

Please contact us in advance of your trip to Plymouth to arrange for a special descendant’s tour of the Port o’ Plymouth Museum.

After verification of your ancestor’s service, you will be provided with a FREE guided tour of the museum. You also will receive a commemorative “Battle of Plymouth Descendant” ribbon and will have your name added to our Descendants Honor Roll.

Hidden History Driving Tours

For those descendants desiring a more in-depth experience, we offer private driving tours of Plymouth and the vicinity, led by one of our museum’s foremost experts in the Battle of Plymouth. In these guided tours, you will travel in the footsteps of your ancestor as you view a variety of Civil War era sites in and around town. Your tour will include period homes that played a role in the Battle of Plymouth, Union fort sites, the location of the Albemarle’s sinking, points of troop movement, and more.

If you know the regiment in which your ancestor fought, we can cater the tour to provide extra detail related to the specific activities and places connected with your ancestor’s time here in Plymouth.
